"I consider Zen to be one of those superlative examples of
what the human brain can store and serve up in unique and appealing ways
at will on most any occasion or assignment. To say his range of
knowledge and interests are "eclectic" is engaging in understatement.
And this is what makes his services as a "possibilities coagulator" for
his clients so valuable and exciting. Smart fellow! Great ally!"

It's true you've got to face change, right?
I know now is a tough time for so many. How do you face the changes that an
economy gone bad brings? How do you deal with the upset and trauma of losing a
job? How do you deal with losing your home? How do you deal with a sudden
downturn in your business, your sales or having to close your doors because your
business has dried up?
Instead of beating your head
against the wall (I know it feels great when you quit) or avoiding 'dealing with
it' altogether, just give me your hand,
or at least your attention for just a moment. I've gone through severe loss and
was able to come back from the deepest darkest depression you can imagine. I
went so deep I wasn't sure I was ever going to come back. But, in spite of it
all, I knew I could. I went into that darkness and started asking questions.
And... on my own, over time, I found and
applied some secrets your counselor and maybe even your coach can't tell you
about because they've never been in that place. It is hard to relate to the
process if you haven't gone through it yourself. Trust me, I've got compassion
and understanding and I want to help. Take a deep breath and relax.
Personal growth and self development does not have to be painful. If nothing else,
with the deep breath, you'll get more oxygen. An attitude adjustment can be a really great thing!
:)
I know you don’t know me yet.
I was probably in the same place you are right now, maybe even worse,
demoralized by events that had taken place beyond my control or desire. I had a
great job working for an aerospace company making great money. I was even finishing my bachelor’s
degree after over a decade from starting college. I was on my way to success and
envisioned a bright future for my family. Opportunity was knocking and all I
needed to do was open the door. It was just that close.
My wife was a stay-at-home
mom by our choice, since the children were young and not all in school yet. We
had moved to Arizona a few years before and had no relatives to depend on
either, so we wanted to protect them as much as possible. We were a close family,
attending church functions, going camping at least once a month, taking the
children to all the attractions and had many picnics in the park as well. Then
the accident happened. It was the beginning of a frightening and unexpected
change in our lives. I had to deal with something worse than death, a head
injury that wiped a memory we had built together.
A car pulled out in front of
my wife and children on their way to look at a house we were thinking of
renting. We were so excited with the description that she went to look at it
while I was at work. We were really wanting to move out of the mobile home we lived in at the time. The
children had their seat belts on, but my wife didn’t. On impact, she hit her
head on the doorpost of the car, knocking her unconscious. The weird thing was I
heard her scream my name. She sounded so frightened and it totally upset me. My
suspicions were confirmed when I got a call from the
hospital about an hour later. They were all okay, but my wife sounded
really different. Her insurance card helped them to track me down. Our relationships were about to change for ever.
The children were all fine,
but there was an emptiness in my wife’s eyes like I’d never
seen before, like nobody was home. I'd heard of such things, but here it was
starring my in the face, literally. She had no memory of our relationship and had her
first affair a few months later, asking me to move out in the process. I told
her I had no chains on her
heart, so I just hoped she’d recover and we would move on. I moved back home a
couple of weeks later and even after months of
counseling she never did 'recover,' and a few years later after several others she filed for divorce. I
was absolutely devastated.
Her symptoms were classic for
head injuries and although I wanted her to return, she had changed forever and I
was left to manage as best I could. I felt like my heart had been ripped out and
I was all alone. For a guy that had devoted his life to serving his family, it
was just unfathomable that this could even happen. I felt betrayed, at times numb and even violated, but the
love remained and somehow I knew things would get better. I was reading a lot of
self help books, too, looking for ways to keep my head on straight.
Meanwhile, back at work I had
several promotions and
one of the highest productivity rates in the materiel department, being
responsible for $7 million in shipments of spare parts per month. I was always
at or above my goal and thoroughly enjoyed being able to go anywhere in the
facility to accomplish my goals, often helping others in their tasks as a thank
you for helping me. My superiors took notice and asked me how I was able to do
so well. They had no idea it was because of how I was applying compassion,
understanding and a willingness to help others with things they needed done. I
didn't particularly go out of my way, but I built great rapport, even with
so-called a..holes.
I confessed to my superiors
that it was my
personality and work ethic that made the difference; how I created relationships with co-workers to
position me at the top of their priority list (usually a long one), so I suggested
interpersonal skills classes in one of our department (30+ staff) meetings. What
a fool. Hardly anyone spoke to me for days. Relationships didn't seem important to them and personal growth or self
development was a non-issue.
A year later the subject came
up again and I was asked if I knew of a good consultant (since I was in the
Business program at the University I thought) and three weeks after
the consultant met with my superiors, I was demoted. I had been served divorce
papers a few days earlier. My relationships fell apart, sinking on the ocean of
emotion like being sucked into a whirlpool. Soon I fell prey to old behaviors of
self-medication and two weeks after my ex-wife and children moved back East I
was fired. I had my life ripped away, abandoned once again.
It was the best thing that
could have happened, but it sure didn't feel like it. I was lost in the forest
and had difficulty seeing the trees, let alone defining them. Have you ever found yourself in such a place,
needing a plan?
It took some time to recover,
find my confidence again, and start over. But I did it! I know you can too, even
if it is just to shift your attitude so you can start recognizing the trees. I was an avid reader of self-help
books and had done some deep spiritual exploration when I was in college
[abandonment] and
even more so during the excruciating after effects of the accident. I had a
sense that I could heal the wounds, brave the storm and face the future with
excitement toward the possibilities yet untapped. Somehow I knew I wasn’t the only one
that had gone through this emotional, mental and spiritual train wreck. I also
had a strong feeling that as I grew I could and would help others regardless of
the pain I’d suffered. It was time for some personal growth and self development
of my own. I needed new relationships. Compassion helps the healing process.
Through effort, creating new
relationships and some phenomenal luck a
couple of years later, I had an opportunity to produce and host a television
show focused on personal growth. It was 1990 and 'personal growth' as a
mainstream market was just getting started. I interviewed people from all walks
of life and professions, including actors, counselors, doctors,
indigenous leaders, lawyers, ministers, politicians, psychologists, social
activists and even a mother
with children
that had gone through a homeless transitional facility with her family. She was
a real role model and what a transformation!
This opportunity, through my
association with the Lions Club, made my life feel worthwhile and I had a
dedicated crew that worked with me to produce over one hundred shows with nearly
two hundred guests. We had a good following for several years until I moved on,
but the best feeling came from being able to share what others had gone through
in order to help those in process with encouragement to change and grow -
recreating their attitude daily. Their personal growth and self development was
amazing and I found so much in common with them.
I asked questions I’d never
heard asked before about deep personal convictions and motivations that helped
them succeed. I especially paid attention when asking how the guests overcame
their fears in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. The education I got
was nothing short of amazing and I was inspired to share all the processes they
developed on their own or with the help of others. I used some of them myself
and I knew that someday I could help many others with all the compiled
information. It was all on tape as each show was recorded. It took me awhile to
compile them.
So I bet you are wondering
how all this 'stuff' can help you, today. Well, right now I hope you are feeling
just a little better because you haven't had to go through what I have in order
to get you life in order and on track to find your own peace of mind and maybe
even a little happiness soon. I know how tough it is for sure. Over the years I
earned two Master's degrees in business but that wasn't enough, I went through a
phenomenal life coaching program that helped me organize and apply all the
personal growth and self development work in an absolutely splendid fashion.
Zen approaches the profession with

Right now there are a lot of
people, maybe even you, that need an attitude adjustment just as bad as I did back then, only
there are more ways to get help now. Even with all the help, the challenge to
change is still overwhelming to most people because they want to do it on their
own. It may be happening to you – reduced income, loss
of job, loss of a home or maybe even a divorce. Are you feeling the anxiety of the chaos in our
economy or your relationships? Never in our lives has there been an opportunity to change the way we
do things. We have the challenge to make life better. Accepting less is just not
an option. Is it? We all can help pay it forward and I'm doing my part here. You'll be able to share this
information, too, because you'll be on fire with it.
Many of the unfortunate folks
that are experiencing perceived destruction, disintegration and devastation now
are at least twice as old as when it happened to me, so it makes it even
tougher (transformation in embryo). I’ve got some answers and ways to help take the liability, limitation
and excuses out of the challenge to change (the 'lle' in challenge from the
header). I’ve got
the material and substance good, caring and dedicated people need to respond with a superior
attitude adjustment, producing better results in their lives, helping them to feel happy
and secure again.
How? Do I have some kind of a
miracle mind machine? No, but you do and I’ll show you how if you give me
the chance. I guarantee you'll be impressed and thrive off the energy you will
have soon. I’ve been able to use the processes and techniques to create some
really fun and exciting projects, learn new skills and lose my fear of change
completely, turning it into an awesome skill set as a change agent, life coach
and all around 'possibilities coagulator' as Mr. Lynch so eloquently stated in
his recommendation.
A few words about my work from a civil engineer on
Be a Life
Coach:
"Zen Benefiel has been an
inspiration and source of energy as a life coach. His ability to combine a
solid business perspective with an open spirit is refreshing. His

sensitivity along with his exuberance for living life to its fullest
potential. I encourage you to meet with Zen and discover for yourself how
you can gain from such a relationship."

I’ve proven to others time
and again throughout years of workshops and personal sessions that these tools
work. I have helped numerous companies and organizations and I’d like to help
you now, but there is one catch. You have to buy the workbook. I’ve been on the
leading edge of change, best practices and personal growth for a couple of
decades now and I owe it all to a few simple processes that I share in this
short workbook. I offer personal sessions, too, if you would like to get some
mega-focused help.
In the last couple of decades
I've been able to do more that most people do in 10 lifetimes, simply because I
had the courage to engage my environment. This includes producing arts & crafts
shows (225,000 in a weekend) concerts, conferences, TV shows, radio shows, and
symposiums; not to mention the volunteer projects or my day job. I'm confident
[by applying the information] you will be able to do much more in 6 months than
you thought you could in 6 years. The material in the workbook is that
powerful.
Yes, I did said workbook.
This is personal work for you - personal growth and self development toward an
attitude adjustment; transformation. There are many inspirational stories on the
market and if that is what you are looking for, then you might be disappointed.
I’m sharing the how-to of the internal process that is at the core of every
inspirational story – personal power and tools to meet changing circumstances
with style and grace. I created this short book, coursework on creating your
life, called Transformation: A Guide for Change, just for these times and
just for you today.
Leap for joy in meeting your challenge to
change!
Do you know about
serendipity? It is the ability to make fortunate discoveries in life, while
taking care of the daily necessities. These fortunate discoveries always make
you feel at least a little better in that moment, if not joyous. Imagine if you could string a
bunch of them together? Would that increase your happiness? Would you be willing
to make a small change in your thinking?
I really hope you aren’t as
demoralized as I was but if you are anywhere close I can help you get beyond
your current dilemma and learn to fly again, or maybe even fly for the first
time in your life. There has never been a better time than now. Some people are
finding that they have a wealth of creativity and ideas that they have been
holding on to for years, waiting for the chance to make good on their dreams.
This workbook will help you open up to your own creative nature and the insights
that come with it. We all have a direct line to our inner guide and he/she is
calling now. You're here, right? Are you going to answer?
Beyond Expectations - a
elementary gifted program teacher's POV:
The
tools and techniques Zen shares worked totally beyond my expectations. When Zen
first began his work with me, my old patterns of denial and avoidance reared
their ugly heads, attempting to keep me safe from myself. Alas, with Zen’s
persistence and patience, he has empowered me to face my fears and get out of my
own way.
My growth has been exponential! What I
have discovered are the treasures buried inside me and I am no longer afraid to
confront my own issues; in fact, I look forward to it because I've learned my
attitude is everything. In this process Zen has not been my guru, he has been my
guide.
Convinced yet? Hey, be as critical as you need to be, but don't let your
resistance get in the way. My guess is it has done that way too often already.
